Welcome
I feel extremely proud and privileged to be the Head teacher of Oxton St Saviour's Church of England Primary School and greatly value the part that it plays in our local community.
All the staff in our school work extremely hard to provide a learning environment which is exciting, challenging and above all else - fun! Whilst the academic development of the children is a key priority within school we work hard to ensure that children's spiritual, emotional, social and personal developmental needs are also nurtured.
Our caretaker and cleaner work exceptionally hard to keep our school clean and tidy at all times and our wonderful kitchen staff provide a wide range of healthy and sustaining meals for the children. Our Mid-day staff keep the children safe and well entertained at lunch time with a wide range of activities and games which make optimum use of the lovely grounds that the school enjoys.
Our last OFSTED inspection was in the Spring Term of 2009 and the school was judged to be outstanding. This was an acknowledgement richly deserved by staff, Governors and children alike.
Our weekly newsletter 'St Saviour's News' will give you a taste of daily life at school and will keep you up to date with all our activities and achievements.
Our school is very closely linked to the local church -Oxton St Saviours and our Chairman of Governors is Canon Davenport. The school enjoys a very close relationship with the church and make regular visits there with all the children. Members of the clergy also visit the school twice a week to lead collective worship and to offer a caring ear to any child or member of staff who needs a quiet word.
I hope that our web site and linked VLE site become favourites of yours in the future.
